Influenza Virus in Korea, 1982

Abstract
|
|
|
Influenza viruses were isolated during the epidemic in Korea last December 1982 to February 1983. The isolated influenza virus strains were experimented for their antigenic analysis and serological survey against it´s isolated virus strain was carried out using sera-obtained/ from Korean population by age groups in 1983.
1. The isolated strains were identified as antigenically similar to A/Philippine/2/82(H3N2).
2. Hemagglutination inhibition(HI) antibody positive rates and geometric mean titers of 407 human sera were 45.2% and 5.43 against A/Korea/1/82(H3N2), and the specific antibody positive rates were highest in 7~9 years old age groups.
